Blaster box - where did that term come from?

just curious how the term "blaster" came about for those 7-8 pack "boxes" you can get at Target and Walmart?

Blasters were probably a marketing ploy/play on words from the already established blister terminology.
You are correct.

<< <i>I think they get the name because the shell sticks out like a "blister."

I think we are all familiar with that term and its origin. But, what about the original question about "blaster" boxes. I am thinking it may have been a term cooked up by Wal Mart. I remember seeing full retail boxes with cellophane still on them and they had stickers to open and display for individual pack sales. I think some employees were opening the 8 pack boxes for pack sales as well. They eventually put the giant yellow or pink sticker on them that says something along the lines of "BLASTER BOX- DO NOT OPEN- FULL BOX SALES ONLY- 7 PACKS PLUS A BONUS PACK- ONLY $19.99"

<< <i>duh, because after plunking down a large chunk of cash, opening them and getting squat, you wanna BLAST someone in the face with your wal-mart shotgun
