am I dreaming or do most or all '51 fb and bb have stains, thus psa lets it go? or how does that work? am I just unlucky and always find ST cards?

John, it does seem that more than half of the 51's have wax or gum staining on the backs however from my experience I have seen several beautiful 6's & 7's that have a minor staining on the backs- I believe if it doesnt get in the way of the printing on the backs they dont knock it down too much if at all in some cases. I have not seen any personally that have a "ST" attached to it due to back staining nor have I seen any PSA 8's either.

It is a beautiful set huh? I find myself getting into these almost as much as I did the 52 set!

For what it's worth, I have seen straight PSA 8's with a light wax stain on the back side. Didn't many 51's come in 2 card wax packs so one of the cards almost always had a stain on it? Maybe I have the wrong info on this...... I've never opened any '51 packs.

The 1951's came two cards per pack, so typically half will have wax stains. The lucky ones are the ones that had the card facing out on the back as the stain was/is easily removed from the front. Not so easy on the reverse.

PSA is oft times lenient on the wax stains for such issues. At least moreso than they are on other issues.

I've seen more than my share of these cards with light stains on the back encapsulated in PSA 7 and PSA 8 holders with no qualifiers.

John, the Weiner appears to be a solid PSA 6, although I've seen PSA 7's with similar centering and slight staining. Good luck.

    Here's my favorite Weiner . . .

Scott are you sure that they came 2 to a pack?

Baseball came 1 card to a pack and 6 cards to a pack.

Perhaps football was 2 and 6?

    Good for you.

Steve, are you asking about weiners or '51 Bowman? Because if you're asking about weiners, they're usually singles, but they are also available in 8, 10 and 24 count packages. It just makes things much more difficult finding the right multiples when buying buns.

Anyway, I'm not certain, but I think that the 1951 Bowman FB was available in both 1 and 2 card packs, but that the 2 card packs were more common.

I asked because I have never seen a 2 card pack.

    I've seen 1 and 6.

    Steve:

I may be wrong. It's been awhile since I seen a pack...
