Although the vast majority of the coins are die varieties, I'm also working on a gem set that might have wider appeal. As strange as it sounds, it's just as hard to find those coins as to find a choice variety (although finding a particular variety is hugely difficult). Here are the coins that I acquired specifically to include in the gem set. The '80 is (of course) a proof. Mike Printz took the picture of the '78.
And, although I didn't purchase these next coins specifically for the gem set, they might end up serving that purpose:
These are the kinds of images I would print out and frame if I owned the coins or even had access to a good file. All I own is a printing company and it would be cake to reproduce these images in high rez in a heartbeat.
All I would need is a 300 dpi original saved as a PDF. We have a tool on our website to make that happen.
PM me if you'd like to have a free print sent to you on my dime......and one for myself to keep.........
(The owner of the photos only.) not the entire list. I'd like to see what kind of quality we would get from our newest digital press.
BTW, 6 out of the 8 coins purchased specifically for the "gem" collection came from or through Mike Printz (and, as I metntioned earlier, he took the picture of the '78).
Larry (JungleFever): I'm away right now; but, when I return, I will be in touch about your offer. Thanks.
I know that you're kidding, but . . . a serious answer. I didn't start out intending to include the proof-only years. But I couldn't resist this '78 when Mike Printz showed brought it to my attention. So, now I'm kinda committed to adding a '77, but I haven't found one that complements the '78 (one came close, but I couldn't swing it at the time).
Updated the "coin board" to include FUN purchases. Any guesses which 3 are new? (One of the three newps also appears in the series of larger pictures.)
