Stack's Auction Catalog Question?

BroadstruckBroadstruck Posts: 30,497 ✭✭✭✭✭
Does anyone know exactly when Stack's moved from their small sized auction catalogs towards the full sized auction catalogs image

Thanks in advance! image

They've had at least four different sized catalogs, (increasing in size) and that's just from the early 1980's to the present. I think 1988 would be when they moved to the second largest size.

I'm sure KM will be able to post a definitive answer.

Thanks as I'm looking for an auction in 1989 so that's half the banker storage boxes I need to search though to see if I own it image

My sources tell me there are three noticable sizes to the various Stack's catalogues.

    1935-1984 small format (6 3/4 x 9 5/8)

    1985-1987 medium format (7 1/2 x 10 1/4)

    1988 (400th sale) - present large format (8 1/2 x 11)

PM me if you are looking for U.S. auction catalogs

To expand on what I wrote, the 1988-1990/1ish catalogs are 8.25 x 10.5" and the latter ones are 8.5 x 11". The greater than 1 cm difference in height is obvious.
