MS65PL Many of the later year gold dollars are PL and some can be easily mistaken for a proof.

Doesn't look like a proof to my eye....

MS 66 (PL only if graded by NGC, as PCGS doesn't give the PL designation).

Hahaha, dont worry the OP and I have gotten to be rather good friends! Weve exchanged 164 PM's, and he is my mentor in this series. One good guy with a great eye for these coins. Three of my best have came from him!

Im delighted for him, totally delighted! When he tells you the grade, you'll be astonished!

BTW, I redone the images in black for him, and rotated them to a nice angle.

After this holiday is over...and the mail flows again, you shall be treated to seven more stories image

Since I already know the answer....all I will tell you is ONE of you is pretty close image

And the answer is: ANACS PF63CAM
To be fair it is almost impossible to grade a proof from a photo.

BTW, that coin has a total mintage of 36

QDB estimates between 22 to 27 surviving examples.

When you see the wreath tops solidly joined, as they are on this coin....thats a proof. Business strikes, no matter how prooflike, are not a proof without this feature.

    Just a stunning coin!!!! image
