Not too much that I ever found.

there are two books though which are very very good


United States Gold counterfeit detection guide by Bill Fivaz
Detetcing Counterfeit Gold coins book 2 by Lonesome John

both have general rules as well as date by date examples with good images. If you buy raw gold you NEED these books.

and would not buy raw gold
unless it was from a trusted expert.
