I agree. I've seen maybe 20 or so of the MS67RDs out there and they were definitely not all equal in my opinion, though they may all technically be graded 67. Some of them seem to be perfect looking reds with blinding luster while others seem to be dogs with spots! Perhaps some of the bad ones have just turned in the holders? Someday I hope to have one of the nice 67RDs in my set
always wondered about the lone 68RD and whether it just got lucky or whether the coin is truly in a league of its own over the 188 or so 67RDs...

I agree Jack. When I'm ready to get a 67RD I hope to get one like that one as there are some pretty bad ones out there.

Every piece of my copper that you've ever seen me post is being sold. About 10 gone already, matties, 67's.......all going. At least 20 more to go, 14D in 64RD, 55/55 64RB. 09SIHC 65RD OGH, 09DDo1 66RD, 2006 MS70 and more ............all need to go.
Ive made the decision to complete the gold dollar series. Currently 26 coins into this series, most of them being fairly difficult dates and MMs. I am, how do you say, past the point of no return..............and Loving it~~~~~~
You make me the RIGHT offer, the big Tuna is for sale 1909 SVDB PCGS MS66RD OGH I had sent that coin to Stewart for his inspection and he "LIKED IT". You all know what THAT opinion means.
CHRISRX - I have personally seen the lone 1909 VDB in an ms 68 red holder at least 3 different times. I graded the coin ms 66 red at best. Nothing special about the coin except "rub"
on the cheek and jaw line that is visible to the naked eye. I turned it down three times at $2,000. It sold a few years back for in excess of $10,000 and it is in one of the top registry sets which is closed
for public viewing. There are many ms 67 red coins which are very nice in various colors from red to gold to orange.
Ambro51 - I like your 09 vdb in ms 67 red!
