2009 coin rolls

hoard or sell like your ex's furniture? image

I mean this as you guys think these rolls are going to keep the decently high premiums they have now, and/or even increase in value or, only certain ones or, are over inflated from people scrambling to scoop up what they can and when the demend dies down the prices will drop like rocks.
here's my 2 cents...

I don't dabble in this, but my guess is the latter. Capitalize on the profit now, while they are hot. Rather alot have been made.

  • I think the boxed US Mint wrapped rolls have potential but the regular bank rolls will be worth .50

    Just my thoughts

300 plus dollars....................I'll be stroking my banker this weekend.

I have a hoarding addition and like to stash rolls whenever I can. Never seem to find enough to stash and sell.

P Dimes are all over and there is a few sellers of P nickels on Ebay but not enough to drastically drop prices. Im not gonna say how many rolls of nickels i have but lets just say its enough to last me several weeks of selling

According to the article in Coin World, one seller had around 50 rolls of nickels. It would take some time to go through them.

I received a roll of Lincoln's Log Cabin from Denver on a give away here last April. I opened it and put them all in 2x2s. They all have a case of measles, ugly spots on every one of them. Does keeping them in the roll prevent this spotting?

I'm just a newbie to collecting since 2004 and I would guess those spots came from humidity. I had the same problem when I 1st started coin collecting. I opened up a mint roll of ocean in view nickels right after I got them. They ended up with brownish bubble spots here and there on each of those nickels and the humidity was about 70% or so.

So after that crap happened I ran all over on-line looking for reasons that it happened, and came to a website that said BU coins HATE humidity. Also that coins will often spot if placed in flips w/ high humidity cause it can and does trap the humidity in them.

Now I only open rolls when I can control the humidity w/ a closed off room and a dehumidifier. Also I don't bother to open up rolls on days the humidity is higher then 49% which still could be too high but I've never had a problem since. image

  • If this keeps up, then I will buy an extra mint set just for filling the Whitman slots.

    Im not saying anything image

On a side note I got news from my supplier that distribution of nickels has been halted. The main branch who supplies the rest of the banks will not be getting any more in the near future so whatever is out there in the banks they supplied to thats it and they dont expect to get any more.
  • I picked a "few" Nickels the other day on the bay and made a VERY nice off site transaction...image
