Safes aren't fire proof. They're fire resistant. What they say for instance, is that in a 1500 degree fire, they'll keep the inside under 350 degrees up to 1/2 hour or so. I'd rather use a fire file if I were worried about losing something to fire. Use a safe to slow down a thief.
I think your safe is good against melting if it is a self sealing one when hit by high temp. The weight has nothing to do with the fire rating.
Melting points:
silver: 1763.2 F gold: 1945.4 F House fire temperature: Wood: 800-1000 F Plastics: 1300 F Oil/paint/gasoline: varies but hotter than plastic.
What works well for some is 6" diameter PVC plumbing pipe, filled w/PM and capped at both ends. Bury in the ground at 3-4 feet or below freezing zone. Remember where it is !
