Topps Ring of Honor football autos

The other day I was checking out the completed auctions for Jim Plunkett to see what some of his autos were going for when I saw that 2 auctions for his Topps Ring of Honor auto went for $110ish. That caught my attention in a hurry because I have one. I checked out more ring of honor completed auctions and saw that Desmond Howards had gone for mid 600s to high 700s not to mention a Dexter Jackson went for somewhere in the 900s.
What's the deal with these prices? Are the print runs uniform throughout the series and if so any ideas of what it is? If not, what are the thought to be short prints?
