Amazing copper

Some of these copper Registry sets are simply amazing. I just noticed that several of the "Thomas Irwin" sets are now open for viewing. Wow! No pictures are posted, but the listing is unbelievable -- imagine a date/mintmark set of Lincolns with 140 slots, and only 18 coins exist that could improve it?!! Thank you Gerry for opening this for viewing.

Last week, I found another top copper set that is finally open for viewing. The Cartwheel Cents set is filled with amazing pieces, and it even has pictures and descriptions, like this Chain Cent (took a little experimenting to figure out how to link an image from a Registry set):

Congratulations to the collectors on their great sets, and THANKS for letting us actually see them!!image

I know...it's hard to believe such coins could still exist in such condition after more than 200 years. The chain cent looks amazing, and how about the wreath cent and liberty cap cent? Unbelievable!

I'd love to see these in person someday, but what are the chances that they'll ever get displayed?

I used to own that chain cent ... and I was the underbidder on that MS69 large cent in Salt Lake City. Sometimes coins are 'great coins' despite what the insert says.

    Love the Eliasberg cent.

Relax guys ..... That ms 69 Wreath cent is ALL plastic. It would not grade ms 65 today ! The real gem is the At water/Stellar coin.
Tradedollarnut - Why would you be the underebidder on that wreath cent ?

I've read the other thread directly on the topic of the '69' grade, and whatever anyone's opinion, it's not the coin's fault what the label says on the plastic. I still think it's a great coin, and considering the other coins in that same Registry set, I'd bet the owner bought the coin and not the plastic anyway.

Well, I was trying to be nice and say it's a great coin despite the fact it's overgraded on the insert

It was back when Parrino was dumping stuff at reasonable prices - I felt the coin was worth more than it sold for at auction.

I opened the thread and ONLY looked at the coins.
For coins like that, screw what the plastic says.....those are great looking!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
