Why wouldn't they...they're coin patterns after all.

Where I take issue with these guys is when they place a cast medal in plastic and then give it a mint state grade.

    Congratulations on your grades!

Do you happen to have a picture of the 1844 Zacatecas piece?

Right now I'm just happy the Goetz piece graded, and I agree about cast pieces.

No pictures of the 1844 Zacatecas piece and after receiving the submission I believe I know why it came back as questionable authenticity. Appears to have a seam running through the reeding along the edge of the coin. Possibly an old cast reproduction ...

I tried taking pictures of the coin when I received my submission back from PCGS, but unfortunately I do not have macro capabilities on the digital camera that I have. It appears to have a line along the edge of the coin running through the reeding which would indicate a cast counterfeit. Since I doubt that the dealer I purchased it from accepts returns ... If you would want it ... PM me.
