Ebay coupon, seller cancels transaction, coupon dies!!! Update: the Coupon lives again!!!

FYI - I used my 8% coupon last night and paid with Paypal. The seller canceled the transaction overnight and guess what? The coupon is no longer valid! It is good for one use only. I've spent the better part of the last two hours on the phone with Ebay and Paypal trying to get the coupon restored, but it just ain't gonna happen! So be careful when using your coupon - make sure the seller actually has the item you want to buy. In my case, I bought what was supposed to be a PCGS slabbed coin, but when the seller checked his inventory he found that it was an NGC slabbed coin.

*** Update: after roughly 24 hours, the coupon banner appeared again on my Ebay home page (same code as before). I tried it on a few listings and they showed the calculated discount. So I found something I wanted, negotiated a new BIN with the seller, applied the coupon and Bing Cashback, and clicked... It worked!!! So, apparently there is a built-in software mechanism whereby the coupon gets resurrected. What is interesting, but not surprising, is that none of the 7 Ebay and Paypal drones that I talked to on this issue had a clue - none of them mentioned anything about resetting the coupon. In fact, three of them specifically said it was dead, a done deal, and told me to keep looking for more coupons in the future. Great communication with the Help Desk, guys!!!
