This lady is off to the plastic coffin factory!

Just off Ebay; an ICCS 1960 MS 65 Quarter.

I can't get a True View with a crossover so I'm breaking it out.I'm not worried
really since it should pass MS 65 muster even with the hard tails.

But even if it only makes MS64 I really don't care that much since the color is the
thing; particularly since I'm trying to build a nice color 1960 Registry Set for
my grand daughter.

Incidentally, I blame Bill, aka "WWW" for ALL of this!image

It's a bit out of focus on the rims since I had to tilt it to bring out the
color. I know, I know- "Mark Goodman would NEVER have to do that!".
But Mark is, well, Mark. And I'm just trying to get by, using as many of his
tips as i can absorb.

That is very attractive, don't see any reason it wouldn't make 65.

Nice coin, nice color, but not MS65 @ PCGS IMO. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Just a thought. How about a picture without trying to catch the color to give another realistic view of hits, luster, etc.? Seems to be a mixed guess so far on if you will 65 or not and that may bring out more opinions....

In all honesty, I don't really like the color that much but if it makes you happy, more power to you.

    That's a wild one.

Are any of those dark spots actually some sort of gunk sitting on the surface? If so, you might want to remove it before sending the coin in for grading.

I really wish I knew how to do that without screwing up the coin.

I also have some PL dollars that would grade 66-67 if it weren't for the contamination from the
pliofilm over the coins as issued by the mint in Canadian PL sets.

ICCS seems to tolerate the clouding in the fields a lot better than PCGS.

I'm going to try some dipping recommendations I've received here for that.

But I can't dip this coin of course without destroying the toning...

In my experience, Acetone hasn't affected the toning on the coin that much, especially if it is NT and not AT. AT will come off.. which is what I think this is.

I dont' think this is AT. I've seen a lot of funky toning on Canadian .800 silver coins.
