More Pretty Little Horses

This Swedish medal appears to be a popular on for horsing events, I believe. What I particularly like is the griffin or eagle worked into the decoration of a blank reverse.

The horse on this next Belgian medal is particularly well worked, though the image may not show it.

Griffin, I'd say. Eagles don't have visible ears like that. I agree- very handsome. I take it the blank area on the reverse was where they'd engrave something, to use this medal as an award in some sort of equestrian competition? What's the obverse inscription translate to?

I think Skanska roughly translates into Scandanavian.
I am told that Faltridtklubben means Riding Club. Makes sense with the "ridtklubben" in there.

Come to think of it, I've seen SKANSKA around here, somewhere. Probably on the side of ships or shipping containers, here in the port. We get quite a few Scandinavian ships.
