My lastest sub just arrived!

Just got my latest sub back!! Thought I'd share some of the highlights. My only beef was with the '58 Mantle/Aaron, and am debating resubbing, thoughts?

    Curt -

Those are some sharp looking cards there. Love the '52 Bowman Mantle. Congrats on a great sub.

    Curt,

REAL nice cards! I think the problem with that Mantle/Aaron was caused 51 years ago ... the card is in awesome shape, but there is quite a bit of snow in the picture!

    Good Luck.

Doug, you may be spot on your observation. The scanner shows more snow than the eye picks up, but I can't find any other reason why it was graded at 7. I think I may be stubborn, and try to send it back in. I had some other nice cards in the sub, but mostly came back mid-grade. if anyone is interested, I"ll post the scans.
    Thanks

Nice '56 Williams and those '48 Leafs have great eye appeal for 2's.

Yes, creases caused the 2s, but they still have nice eye appeal. All these cards came from a single collection. The owner picked up most of the cards in the 90s during the card slump. It made me cry when he told me the prices he bought them for. I'm still waiting (nervously) for the cornerstone of the collection to be graded.

Wow, so we haven't even seen the cornerstone yet! Any hints or perhaps a raw scan? image

  • Curt-- Great cards. If you are thinking of resubbing the '58 Mantle/Aaron, I was thinking the '54 Mantle's Red Heart and Bowman might be worth a second look. Unless there's something we can't see. They look better than 5's to me. What do you think? Doug

    Doug,
I think you're right. The '54 Bowman has print defects, but both probably worth a shot.
