Financially the players are only as sound as the experts they surround themselves with. Football players have at least attended college.lol

It is the month of August; a resort town sits next to the shores of a lake.
It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted.
It is tough times, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

Suddenly, a rich tourist comes to town.

He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 dollar bill on the reception counter,
and goes to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one.

The hotel proprietor takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his
    debt to the butcher.

The Butcher takes the 100 dollar bill, and runs to pay his debt to the
    pig raiser.

The pig raiser takes the 100 dollar bill, and runs to pay his debt to
the supplier of his feed and fuel.

The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to
pay his debt to the town's prostitute that in these hard times, gave
    her "services" on credit.

The hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100
dollar bill to the hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she
rented when she brought her clients there.

The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 dollar bill back on the counter
so that the rich tourist will not suspect anything.

At that moment, the rich tourist comes down after inspecting the
rooms, and takes his 100 dollar bill, after saying that he did not
like any of the rooms, and leaves town.

No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now without debt,
and looks to the future with a lot of optimism .

And that, ladies and gentlemen - in a nutshell - is how the US economy works.

Attended be the key word would love to see how many would go to college if it wasn't for there football abilites.
Don't get me wrong there are a few with the brains and football abilites out there to be worty of college but standards
are lower for them and pleny of coaster class to take.

Most of the time when theses guy make it the make bad business deals and the people who handle the money steal
from them. If you are a football player, make money on what you know football and when it come to handling your money
and investment get yourself a trust so more then one person is watching out for you not just one person. You give
a 20 something year old dumb kidd millions of dollars that never had money to play football and what do you think will happen.

Athletes and "restaurant deals" and "real estate deals" don't usually go together very well. I imagine these athletes likely get financial counseling of sorts, but they probably don't listen. And of course then there's the divorce.....

Athletes, dollars, and intelligence don't often mix.

In Vick's case, athletes and intelligence don't mix.

Kosar received a dual degree in finance and economics with better than a 3.2 GPA as an Academic All-American. I guess those saying he is dumb and stereotyping all athletes as dumb did much better with their education and rightfully look down on him image

I'm sure no one else has ever made any bad financial moves either, restaurants are a really tough business to be in.

Sounds like he only has himself to blame for going broke then book smart doesn't mean that your street smart
you can have all education in the world and still be a dumba$$ when it come to money. Just another lottery
winner that played football and couldn't handle it.

It amazes me that you can make millions on top on millions, make bad choices and
then file for bankruptcy? Why should the govermant bail this person out again?
Let me guess will have a great credit score, can't touch his NFL pension,
can't touch any properties and retirement accounts? Sorry Bernie not going to get any sympathy from me.

Most Athletes have no concept of business. The rare one, such as Magic Johnson, do make it.

Dude, just put the money in the bank ! Greed is a powerful drug.
