I was on my way out the door to the Baltimore show and my husband (who likes to make random comments sometimes) said "can you get me something with Trajan on it?". Apparently he was looking at one of my magazines that had something about Roman coins and thought they were cool.
My husband is not a coin collector but every so often he want something. He has a 6-pence from 1693 as he went to the College of William and Mary and that is when it was founded. Anyway, apparently Trajan is his favorite emperor. (I obviously was not as well educated as I don't have a favorite!)
So this was his present from me...
Trajan 98-117 A.D. Denarius--#AC29145
AR Denarius 19mm. 3.37g. Rome Mint 114-117 A.D.
Laureate and draped bust, r.

Virtus standing r., foot on helmet, holding spear and parazonium.

I know ZIPPO about these, but it looked cool. Husband was pleased!
This thread has been a visual pleasure, thanks all !
