Laura & Coin Doctoring: & What to Do if you Own a Doctored Coin?

Laura at Legends mentioned that CAC has wiped out the "coin doctors".

If you found out you had purchased a pricey coin (everyone's pricey-level varies) that was doctored and then certified by PCGS, would you tell anyone? I assume PCGS would take it offer your hands with thteir guarantee program, but otherwise you would either keep a doctored coin; sell the coin to a 3rd party without admitting the coin was doctored; or sell the coin to a 3rd party with admitting the coin was doctored.

What would you do with a "restored" coin that got by PCGS?

  • If it's in an NGC slab there is a good chance it is artificial. Those guys couldn't tell the difference between natural and AT toning if their lives depended on it. If it's not a Morgan and it has a star designation, it's got a 50/50 chance of being AT. They are a big joke!
