Getting another shipment of victims off to the graders today...

Some cherry picked from mint and proof sets, some crossing (or trying imagefrom ICCS and NGC.

I got this one raw; a 1956 Canada PL half. I'm fairly certain of a PL 66, hoping for a 67.

The image is probably not good enough to tell. (And they won't be until I get my macro
lens and some decent lighting) but any thoughts on how this one might grade?

    The verdict is already in on this one: MS 65 R&B--the "B" i suppose being the gorgeous color which doesn't
    seem to mean diddly to the graders.

    I'm thinking of a re-submit, maybe even taking a chance and cracking it out for a raw submission.

    A 66 would likely triple the value but the small carbon spot near the "S" in left obverse field is
    a concern.

    Any thoughts and/or suggestions appreciated.....

    Personally, I don't think that coin will get a MS66 RB grade. Of course, I haven't seen the coin in hand.

    it looks to me like there is a small nick on the king's cheek which would prevent an upgrade

    It's a solid 65 (I am the former owner) but a 66 is highly unlikely.
    And PCGS is absolutely murderous on copper/bronze right now.

    I'd have to agree, wiht the nick on the cheek and a few spots I would think a 66 very unlikely.

    Thanks guys; I get the message and you probably saved me about fifty bucks.

    I always seem to let color like this get in the way of my better grading judgement
    so this wouldn't be the first time I couldn't find any one to agree with me on a grade.
