    Hi Doug,

    Nice pickup image

That card has a lot of character! The pinholes take me back quite a few years to a time when my friends used to do that to their Mantles!

I remember, back in 1958, going to a place called Kresge's where I bought a piece of corkboard and a box of thumbtacks. I couldn't wait to get home to start pinning my baseball cards to it.

Needless to day, when I got home I went straight to my room, opened my shoebox of baseball cards, and before I could get a single tack out of the box, my dad walked into my room and said, "don't even think about it!" .... (that's actually the nice version of what he said).

Some collectors may look at your card and see a defaced piece of vintage memorabilia and might wonder how someone could have done such a thing ..... I see history and remember why kids used to do that ..... it was mainly done out of pride and passion of collecting their favorite heroes of the game they loved.

Thanks for sharing your card image

p.s. very possible that a kid didn't make the holes in your card .... it just brought back a few good memories and thought I'd share!

Thanks Poppa! I bought the card for the autograph ... I would much rather have a GREAT auto on a lousy card than visa versa.
