can anyone decipher the symbolism? best i can tell the idealized visage is leading the children towards knowledge (they are going in the direction of the citidel on the hill with the wise owl at it's base)

school books are at the children's feet.......any other ideas?

with the heft it has to be silver.......as for a close up of the lettering, the letters have picked up some of the fabric from the box it was housed in....even with a loupe i cant make out the exurge lettering
