Bugs Bunny or not? Here are two pics... ANSWERS POSTED

WindycityWindycity Posts: 3,470 ✭✭✭✭✭
Both have been submitted to PCGS, both have been graded and returned. Your guess... are neither Bugs Bunny's, both, or just one?

THE LEFT IS A 1960 P - DID NOT GET THE BUGS BUNNY DESIGNATION FROM PCGS.

THE RIGHT IS A 1956 - DID GET THE BUGS BUNNY DESIGNATION FROM PCGS.

VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO COIN, PARTICULARLY TO THE NAKED EYE.

Well, both are die clashed coins but the one on the left is a little iffy. There are clash marks between the lips but I don;t know if there is enough for PCGS to attribute it as a Bugs Bunny.

The one on the right isa Yes.

I agree with Lee, both are clashed. But its not likely the left one will get the coveted BB designation.

Damn! I forgot to ask what the dates are? If they are D or S mint coins then no on both. They would, however, get attributed as "Minor Variety" Obverse Die Clash provided you specified "Variety Attribution" on the submission and paid your $24 per coin fees.

There are different characteristics PCGS looks for on different dates ; so you would have to identify the year minted for each .

but I think one did and one did not get the nod

Thanks to Windycity for sending his 1960 Bugs for examination and to add to my site! The 1960 is at least equal to the 1956 and may be a tad stronger. I think PCGS will designate it now that it's listed in the CPG.

Here's a list of all known Bugs dates, 20 in all! Only one missing for a complete date set! Who's gonna be the first to find a 1958?

    1948
    1949
    1950
    1951
    1952
    1952-D
    1953
    1953-D
    1953-S
    1954
    1954-D
    1954-S
    1955
    1956
    1957
    1959
    1960
    1961
    1962
    1963
