LP1 Lincoln boxes are in the $70-$80 range, does

Does that mean LP2 boxes will follow suit? Right now folks are paying that amount for 'good dated' LP2 boxes w/the possibility of finding errors. What about the other LP2 dates? Will they go up in value to match the prices on LP1's? It seems to me they should, but what do I know....then comes the LP3's, etc.

LP1's had a much lower mintage (well, many less packaged sets), the mint wasn't ready for the demand.

What he said. The mintage is what matters most.

LP2s could be going for a little more now if seller's weren't shooting themselves in the foot by aggressively undercutting each others BIN.

    98,000 LP1 boxes compared to 200,000+ LP2 boxes?

    I think not.

BUT..........................LP1 didn;t have any DDR coins whereas the LP2 has some fairly nice ones.

Ida voted Maybe but you didn;t supply that option.

I think the DDR's will keep the prices up.

What are the good dates on the boxes as far as ebay prices?

LP2 is not selling for 1/2 of what LP1 rolls, boxes, slabs, etc. sold for initially.

If you're giving them away, why does it matter whether it's unopened or not?

If you don't mean the LP2 (that's the mint's nomenclature for their nicely wrapped one) but rather are just after a roll of the "formative years", PM me....if no one else can help, I may be able to.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Well theyve been shipped already, matter of fact they shipped in early May. Perhaps it is because all mail is taken over by the military after it leaves new York on the way to Germany.

This ireally sucks but it sure beats paying $80+ dollars for them

Seems to me like there must be an oversupply of LP2s in the market... otherwise buyers would be snapping up those 'bargains' at a faster rate.

The good dated box's are 4/17 up to 4/30 with a few being found up until 4/6.

Well guys my LP1's finally arrived today with boxes dated 2/25. However the US Mint jacked up my order...

But this time the order was jacked for good because instead of the 3 LP1's I ordered the mint actually sent me 5. I thought it was my LP2's since i had oredered 5 as well but after looking at the boxes with the letter LP1 I knew I was in luck.

Wow...thanks mint for making it up to me!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it hard to believe that only these dated boxes possibly contain errors. I have boxes dated 4/15,4/16, 4/20, 4/22, 4/29, 4/30, and 5/2.

I would think that both the time & date stamp might give a better clue as to which boxes contain errors.
  • pitbosspitboss Posts: 8,643 ✭✭✭

You are going to find that it is true as I have searched many box's in all the possible time frames and dates from 4/14 up until 5/6 and am very familiar with where the good one's are.
  • levinlllevinll Posts: 1,231 ✭✭✭
That makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification.

I called back the mint about me receiving the extra 2 LP1's and I offered to pay for them, they told me I had to return them and I explained to them since I am in Germany that it would be a hassle for me to ship them, she then forwarded my call to Headquarters to see if they would charge me instead and they did.

So I received 2 extra sets at the original price and a big Thank You.

    Life's good!!!
