Good, necessary move - he'll be back and then ease him in with situations when the Phillies have a large late game lead...and with the Phillies bats, those situations will happen often enough.

Exactly but so would the Mets. Steve didn't say they were gonna knock the Phillies out of first place. He said the Mets would move into first place.

Additionally, if a sweep were to occur, the Mets would own a 6-1 season edge over Philly. That alone would cement a NY claim to 1st place for the time being.
