1956 Topps Master Set

Anyone know of a collector putting together (or completed) 56 Topps set with all WB/GB variations, team card variations, color variations (i.e. Ted Williams) and checklists? I see on the PSA Set Registry that the master set does not recognize WB/GB variations or color variations, yet the flips note the backs.

I am working on the Master set raw, in EX+ condition. I have always liked the set. Once I completed it with all the team variations, I decided to go for the gray/white color variations as well. Taking it slow. The white backs in the 100-180 series are a real challenge.

Well, if I could back in time and retake my wedding photos I would, but what's done is done and I am not ashamed of them. image

I have the set , checklists and the team variations. I have never gotten into the gray/white backs, or the colored line front variations. I do have a second card of # 263 Miller that has no green ink on the back. That maybe a limited print defect. I also have a second of 323, Schmidt, with the loss column for the year blank ( normally it has 6). It may also just be a print defect, but there is nothing else missing from the back.

How do you store the set? Binder and 8/pp pages? Card savers? Glued in a scrapbook? image I would think a Binder would work best to show off the variants.

Yes - I have them in a binder and 8 card sheets. Easy to enjoy.

And thanks for the GREAT info BR Collector. I didn't realize that the dated team cards are not available in the gray back variety.

No problem. I'm not 100% all that info is accurate though. Might want to compare it against PSA's info or the SCD,BGS big books etc.
