If there was a dip or something that would do this witout removing any silver it'd be well worth it. A whole crap load of silver bullion that is plated in gold either does not sell at all or sells with a huge discount to silver spot. It would be a great way to buy silver on the super cheap and make it resellable for a nice profit.

I remember reading about something called reverse electroplating where you dissolve the plating off of a coin and deposit it on another piece of metal. The coin is attached to one terminal of a battery by a wire and the piece of metal to the other terminal by a wire. The coins are immersed in an electrolyte containing solution still attached to their wires. Only I think you had to put some wierd stuff in the electrolyte solution like some cyanide salt or something toxic like that whereas normal electroplating only requires something like trisodium phosphate. I'm not sure why you had to use something toxic for reverse electroplating, maybe you don't really have to. I don't remember all the details though but I bet it could be done if you researched how to do it properly and if you were careful you could stop the process without losing much of the silver. Seems like a lot of trouble though.
