I picked up 4 10 oz bars yesterday at spot +1. 1 A-MARK, 1 Heraeus, and 2 bars that did not have the minter on them. They do state,Minted
from U.S. strategic stockpile silver formerly stored at U.S. assay office San Francisco 1981. The other side states, .999 fine silver ten troy
ounces. They are a little narrower than the A-MARK and the Heraeus bars but a bit thicker. I guess that 40 cal FNH I was going to buy
yesterday will have to wait. Bob

This I can understand for classic coins, where the grade/condition is extremely important.
Silver is bullion and as long as it's a reputable bar/round I could care less if it has a fingerprint on it, or is circulated vs brand new uncirculated.
There are exceptions for rare bars/rounds. I just don't consider it the best use of my dollars. jws
