1806 $5 Gold Counterfit from Golddustpl Skerbec on ebay

COUNTERFEIT ALERT

I bought an 1806 $5 Capped Bust from Christine Skerbec, ebay name: golddustpl in 2007.
The coin was in an ungraded, slab with text.

I could not send the coin in for grading, because it was shiny, & looked to have been cleaned.
I had also bought a 1799 $5 Capped bust from her, but when I got it, it had scratches on it, not seen in the ebay pictures, so I sent it back & had to fight with her to get my money back.
(I now believe, that that coin, too, was a counterfeit.)

Dec. '08, when PCGS started the Genuine program, I sent it in.

After the Holidays, it came back as counterfeit.

I kept seeing these same slabs, with the same text, under her ebay user name for sale on ebay & thought, Wow, there must be a lot of Capped Bust's in the Mid West. (Naive!)

I saw her sell about 15 of them on ebay, but that is just a guess.
Ebay is co operating with the Law Enforcement & giving them a list of all of the Capped Busts she sold on ebay, but they do not have the pictures from the ads. We need pictures of the ebay ads.

I posted this on a couple of coin forums & several people including a Dr. from Canada, got counterfeit coins from her, but they did not leave negative feedback because they did not want to have their ebay feedback ruined by her.

The FBI, US Mint, & Local Police want me to find other victims of her that have pictures of the ebay ad.

I paid $4470 for this coin & gave this woman 6 months to pay me back.

The Sheriff went to her home & she is remodeling her home.

She told the Sheriff that she did not want to go to jail over this, but she still refuses to pay me back.

Anyone, That bought coins from her on ebay, in these typed in slabs, please contact me, if they are counterfeit.

We need to make the Gold Coin Community as Safe Place, & put this woman in jail.

Do you have a pic of yours? Info on a criminal complaint that was filed? image

Why not? Was ANACS not an option at the time? image

    p.s. Welcome to the forums.
  • Thanks for spreading the word, and for helping out in the fight against counterfeiting. It sounds like that house is being remodelled from the blood money of numismatists, and we applaud your efforts. Does anyone here have any photos from her eBay site?
