Just curious on the 2010 National Park quarters....

Are there any preliminary designs available yet? I've seen the design choices for the 2010 cent (and am appalled by the CCAC's choice of LP-10. Give me LP-12 or give me death. Or at least LP-17.) and am surprised that I cant find any prelim designs for the quarters...

Let me guess. Sequoia will be a sequoia tree.
Let me guess. Yosemite will be Half Dome.
Let me guess. Mount Rainier will be Mount Rainier.
Let me guess. Crater Lake will be Crater Lake with Wizard Island in the foreground.
Let me guess. Wind Cave will be stalactites.
What a stupid theme for coins.

We ought to have Crocodile Dundee standing in the foreground pointing to the main feature on each coin, with that sh t eating grin of his
Redwood National Park - The difference between a sequoia and a redwood, when rendered on a coin, will be small.
What is there? A very mature, very dark and somewhat depressing forest.
How do you represent fog on a coin?
Death Valley National Park - One of my favorite parks, but I cannot imagine how to capture it on a coin.
In person, seen with your own eyes, the distances and scales are gigantic, unreal and misleading.
Lassen National Park - Few folks can tell the difference between one volcano and another.
I heard they were planning 5 ounce, 3 inch versions of these things. That is all i'd be interested in. Heavy chunks of silver.

Well, not all states/territories have a national park. How do they pick the historic site? Is it not possible that some states have multiple historic sites, with different activation dates?
I read somewhere that Puerto Rico has a site that could theoretically
qualify as second in the series. Does anybody have info on that?
Finally, the legislation calls for five per year. There are 56 candidates. Which year of the eleven gets the six-coin set? First or last? Why to either?

California has to choose between Yosemite or Sequoia. With Yosemite on the statehood quarter one would ASSUME Sequoia...

It should be Death Valley as it is the closest to the center of the Earth.
