Removing Sharpie auto from a postcard

I have an undesired auto on a postcard. I'm afraid to take fingernail polish remover to it. Anything else that I might try first?

Could you post a photo? That way everyone can see exactly what it looks like.

    Who is the autograph of?

It's just a portrait postcard from the early 90s. It's signed in the lower corner rather than across the middle, thankfully, but I still want to be able to remove it w/o doing visible damage to the postcard. It's a non-glossy finish but still a lil' smooth- it's not porous and the ink didn't bleed.

You could try a qtip test with a mix of

    rubbing alcohol and WD40.

    ....

acetone should do it, too but it can be harsh.

I'll try the WD-40/rubbing alcohol mix before trying the acetone. I know it's all guesswork but probably a 50/50 mix?

Or, if anyone happens to have an Oil Can Boyd 1990 Expos Postcard, I'd be even better off.

    I guess.

The qtip should not be dripping wet. No droplets on the paper.

    LIGHT pressure.

If that doesn't work send it to me. I can get it off with my pressure washer.
