Really thought I had a good shot at a 9 on the Garber and McEnaney, but I'm ecstatic about the Aaron! Pulled that sweet gem right out of a GAI graded mini wax pack. All these cards were pulled by myself directly from GAI graded wax packs over the last few months.

Thanks again, guys, I appreciate it! Nick, this one is for my personal collection. I've been working (albeit very slowly) on the 75 mini set, mostly adding to it with cards I subbed to PSA myself.

    Hi Tim,

In your opinion, did that Aaron barely make a 9 or did it barely miss a 10?

Only 1 PSA 10 out of 496 Aarons graded so far!

Just wondering if a review might be in order based on my first question?

Congrats ... It looks like a 10 from here! image

Nice card, and congratulations on the grade. From the photo, it's well deserved.

However, looking at the card, the most obvious "problem" is the slight noticable "stain" on the reverse near the 1966 Braves statistics. Furthermore, once again, I will reiterate my position that nobody can tell the difference between a 9 or a 10 just by looking at a photograph.

Just read the back of the Aaron card ....

Ernie Banks and OJ Simpson are cousins?

    Poor Ernie!

Thanks again, guys, for all the kind words...when I pulled the card I didn't think it had a shot at a 10 mainly due to the centering being slightly off L/R. The small spot on the back is actually much lighter in hand than it came out on the scan. PSA 10s are so tough in this issue...I've only gotten two out of about 200 cards submitted, though one of them was an Alomar pop 1 of 2.

Not sure that Aaron would get a 10 due to the slight diamond-cut.

That being said, that card is a blazer! image

  • Sarcastic post of the day.

Seriously, I'm not interested in the PSA 9 Aaron. I'm interested in the NM7 and the MSR reject. I want to know what a 7 looks like and an MSR reject looks like so when I submit cards, I know what to look for.

    Nevertheless, great Aaron card.

With the 1975 issue, there are two color combos that routinely stack up "short"---the red/yellows and the green/yellows. Conversely, the blue/tan color combo routinely comes up as "long." As a result, it is extremely difficult to slab one of the natural "shorties" these days, as they were not cut by the factory according to standard size specifications for the 75 mini issue. Since I pulled all these cards myself directly from wax packs, though, I figured it was worth a shot, especially since it was a low pop card.
