On a tangent... I've had some PSA cards that are listed in a certain set, but can't add them because of a problem with the spec #. I've emailed PSA about them and they've always taken care of them within 24 hours. Not sure why that can be done so quickly but it takes forever to get a card added to the registry.
new sets: 3-9 months new team sets: ???? (never requested one, but they seem to move pretty quickly through the list) new player sets 1-2 years additions to existing master player sets: 1-12 months. I think it depends on when you request it. I believe they try to have all the requested cards added before the deadline, which was yesterday. Since you only submitted the additions a few days ago, you may need to wait until next years deadline approaches.
About 2 and half years for my Bret Saberhagen set/s that went live about three months ago...of course they misspelled his name.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

<< <i>Does this period of six months refer only to a newly-added set, or do pre-existing sets within the Registry also share this lengthy delay? >>
I had some Ripken's that had been graded by PSA, took 6-7 months to get some of them added to the Master registry.
