I have an unopened box of keelboat nickels from the release ceremony. Should I...

...sell them or keep them? Is there anything worth cherry picking in D keelboat nickels?

Does an unopened box from the release ceremony have a premium?

If you really need the money, sell them. I don't know of anything worth cherrypicking and I do believe they carry a modest premium if they are from the release ceremony. Exactly how much, that I don't know.

Even though I don't know the mintmark... since the possibility of locating an MS68 example is extremely rare (in this economy any lower grade would probably be a marginal gain or loss in PCGS plastic) and the possibility of cherrypicking is non-existant, I think you're probably better off selling them.

Start the rolls off low and see where they go.
