Remarkable detail and ultra vibrant colour.

However, and you know I'm one of your biggest fans, everytime a talented Darkside photographer upgrades to an SLR, the luster is suddenly taking a back seat. I've noticed the same with Phil's earlier "amateur" pictures compared to TrueView and again now with your new photos compared to the older ones. I'm curious why this is happening and if there's a way to find a better balance between the three.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The surfaces don't have that same "liquid" quality showcasing the lustre.

I wonder if the lighting has anything to do with it? Since I now have the ability to pull back and light from a high angle, which means I cannot use my Ott Lites any more. I should pick up some traditional socket Otts and give those a try...
  • See if by using the same setup, but with the lights diffused in some manner, whether you can get good detail, color and luster. I believe the luster is being lost due to "harsh" lighting conditions.
