Fields look clean, but decent amount of chatter on the face.

    MS64*

Yeah, MS63 would be the highest, but I think it would
be more comfortable in an MS62 holder at PCGS.

of course grading a coin by one side is a fools game and you only state it's colorfull

the reverse could be a dawg but stunning in color and graded as such to even including a net grade

  • I'm going to guess that the reverse looks incredible therefor I will say ms65.

Looks like a 63 obverse, so I'd say no higher than 64*.

That cheek indicates it should be a 63, or possibly a low-end 64 if the chatter is lighter than the pictures make it appear. 1880-S comes nice a lot, and this shouldn't get a gift grade.

I would need better pics of both sides before I'd even hazzard a guess.

On a hunch that photo is showing the lights hitting the coin just right, I'm going with MS66*

    Based on that pic, 63.

    Reality is 64*.

highest maybe 65, but more likely 64.

if the rev. is really nice, a 1 or 2 point bump could be appropriate.

I think the variety of answers we've heard so far says more about the quality of the image than the coin itself.

gotta agree, & besides that what is the point of grading 1/2 of a coin? uh, unless it's cut in half of course

Any particular reason why we can't see the reverse? Why the mystery?

Based solely on the obverse it looks like a 63, shot 64... but assuming this is an 80-S, they come nice- so unless the reverse toning is of monster caliber then it's a generic 63 imo.

To answer the title question, a 62 would be generous with the neck missing from bag clashing.
