A darkside coin I just had to have...and one that I think every collection is incomplete without...

I actually did buy one of these just for kicks...and my 6 year old niece thought it was really cool. I suppose this is one way to get young girls interested in Numismatics,eh?

Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice.
I can see the appeal of the coin to young girls. My daughter isn't very far removed from her "Barbie phase." IMO this design isn't so far removed from so many of the absurd ones Britain and commonwealth countries are putting out on their modern coinage. This new trend is one of the reasons I stopped collecting British decimal mint and proof sets and sold what I did have already. It's like play money these days. That jigsaw puzzle set of coins they put out was really the last straw.
I know if I had a granddaughter it would be on the top of my buy list!
Farthing, aren't your grandkids having kids by now?

It looks like you hit the reverse of the coin.
My daughter would approve of that very much.

Yeah, talk about throwing up!!!!!!
BTW, I think I like the "BARBIE" coin just slightly more than any Panda.
I think I like the "BARBIE" coin quite a bit more than any Cook Islands Tangaroa phallic symbol coin.
