Roosevelt Dimes

Is there any value in toned 2002-P Roosevelt dimes (solid bluish purple on both sides)? Went through three hundred in change and found only two out of all of them so thought it was unusual these were the only toned ones in the bunch.

Probably not, since most likely they were heated in order to induce the toning. Got a pic or two?

It's most likely the one I placed in circulation in June 2002. My dog swallowed the coin and the next day extracted it during a methane out-burst. I've always believed it was his gas that caused the blue toning. I think it will grade as NT.image

  • This is what we call Wash Tone. Means it went into the wash with someone pants. Came out bluish purple. It will fade off..
