Was cleaning up the computer room and found this coin. I had 'misplaced' it about a year or so ago. Having a difficult time grading it. Any help is appreciated.

Love those misplaced pieces; sometimes they can be a delightful find.

The crown IMO says VF and maybe the reverse says XF or slightly better but I'm no expert. If its better I can't tell from the image...

    Nice date though.image

the texture looks odd to me,

almost like it was overdipped many years ago and retoned fully brown.

Is it the pic or is that corrosion pits on the face of the coin? May be just the picture...

Nice coin. Too much wear on the crown to be xf, but the leaves on the opposite side indicate xf. Net vf plus. All in all a very nice coin to find after all these years.

It could be a weak strike? No? -Dan

Could be grease on the die that I am seeing instead of corrosion marks...

I don't know Dan. Can you have a strong strike on one side and a weak strike on the other? I don't know, but the physics of it seem unlikely.

    Hey, wassup, Shroomie.

Not a bad one, there. A tad soft and granular, but I've seen that look before on Eddie's large cents.

Looks like a softly-struck XF to me, but I will defer to the VF30 opinion previously posted.

Well I think it is my post you are refering to. What does your comment mean? Was I way off in my comment? I really don't know about the soft strike on one side and a great strike on the other. Is this what you mean? Enlighten me please. Thank you.

He was calling ME a yeti.

Thanks Lord M. Your post didn't come up on my screen-that was why I thought he was refering to me. Welcome back. I really enjoy your knowledge and commentary. Olmanjon
