Need assistance on stamps. Just inherited my mothers collection

Hello, I'm a coin collector and I have recently acquired my mothers stamp collection. I'm sure there is nothing extremely valuable in it, but I need some guidance on what book to get to help me out, to check and she what is actually there.

    US ? Foreign? You can always find a Scott Specialized Catalog (or set of catalogs for foreign AND US) at your local library.
