Should I experiment with this, and how ?

On a serious note. experiment what do you have to lose.

Agree. Acetone can't hurt and it may get rid of the green. You may need to use a toothpick to help things along.

There was a lengthy thread last week about a new product called Verdigone that you also may want to check into, though looking at your coin, from what I can tell, I don't see any heavy verdigris.
