More scans from the collection purchase. 1953 Topps here.........

Condition of this set is all over the map. Some cards are blazing, others suck gralls. Most are in between, like the Mantle which is a nicely centered, crease free card.

Those cards have some great coloring. Your scans are making me want to pursue a midgrade 53 Topps set as I think they would like nice on display. I really don't need to start another project though. My rookies still keep me busy, but that might be a future endeavor. Nice pickups RB.

    Mike,

I think a mid grade early to mid 50's Topps set is a good little project. And as far as 53's are concerned, I think they are the toughest regular Topps issue to find consistently. Seems like Topps dialed it way back after producing a good number of 52's.

Because the other thread already had a ton of scans, and I didn't want to lock up someone's computer by throwing a bunch more there.

Is that good enough for you? Feel free to ascribe a more sinister reason if that's how you roll.

You know, I've been looking at these (and the others on the other thread) and thought they looked very familiar so I went to my Grandfathers house and it seems someone bought his cards. We had never discussed value but he decided to ask me the value on them and after giving him a rough idea he is seriously ticked off and feels like he was taken advantage of and has asked that you send me the cards so I can give them back to him and he will give you back what you gave him once the cards are back in his hands.

    Just kidding. image

Pay no attention to the ornery drunk that posted that jackass question. Sorry about that.

Those are gorgeous cards, Ron. Nice job.
