How about a Coin Picture Thread 'showing off' your dull and mundane coins? Here's one of mine. . .

braddickbraddick Posts: 24,412 ✭✭✭✭✭
No Monsters or Mooses allowed in this thread! No killer rainbow ultra neon wild lustrous beauties either!
Just the simple, blue collar coins. A 'special' coin (to you) that you like.

Post your coins that are average- typical, whatever but rank high in your mind simply because... well. . . actually you don't have a reason why- you just kind of have taken a fancy to it, and to all
who mock it be damned.

Here's one of mine:
I like this coin. I like the older holder. I know it is nothing special, but I don't care. It's mine and it stays right where it's at.

I like your coin very much, the holder even more. However I feel it breaks your own rules?

BTW Braddick, do you have a website showcasing your coins? I love 99% of the coins ive seen you post.

Nuthin' "dull" nor "mundane" about that! You need to post a dull and mundane coin image or change the title of the thread.

EDITED to add: It may be a common date/mm/grade, but it's not dull.

Your speaking about 85% of my tonersimage

But I like them more so than the crazy neon's.....OK, call me crazyimage
Something about the more subdued but nice toners seem to have more appeal to me

image Either one or the other.

If that coin is one of your low-end, dull, mundaners, your disposable income must rival that of an NBA All-Star! image

Alright... alrighty then. I feel you. How about this one? Certainly it offers zero in the pizzazz department? Still, something about it I dig. Can't tell you why exactly. It's mundane. It's boring. It is anything but a head turner. So, to get this thread back on track, may I present to you: image

(No website, although years ago I registered, www.peacockcoins.com yet have done nothing with it outside of paying the yearly fees to keep it registered. One day. . .)

Nice! Perhaps "common" but so far I have yet to see anything "dull" and "mundane". Maybe I just have my target aimed alot lower then the rest of the posters. image

I love the Morgans posted so far, though! image

Not flaming somkincoins here, but that coin fits the "mundane" category, but not dull, IMHO. image

Then Barndog posts his common POS that doesn't even belong on this thread let alone any thread here on CU! Shame on you Barndog! image

Ok, here's one that's in the dull/mundane/ borderline widget arena, but I still kind of like it.

The significance of that coin is neither dull or mundane. image
  • I have no dull or mundane coins (cept maybe an occasional F or VF rarity). I have inexpensive and common coins- but there's nothing dull about them! Most of them look really cool!

the reverse below (in my sig) comes close, maybe- but there's nothing dull or mundane about a Morgan "O" with a great eagle!!

Is that 1917 Philly half the "no mint mark on reverse" variety, or is it the scarcer "no mint mark on obverse"? image
