cracking psa 7 or 8 for raw sets.

hello i wonder is any you guys buy graded psa 7s and 8s and cracking them open to make raw sets. i am try to put together a nice a 1975 and 1974 sets. i did not know if that would be a good way to make sure that the stars are good way to make a better set instead of spending alot more money for one or more sets and sorting through them to get one nice set. any opinions would be great. or if anyone has great looking 75 set you want to sell that has nrmt or better.

Quite a few cards in my raw '75 set are crackouts. Some were HOF'ers, but some were commons that are hard to find in decent condition and were cheap to buy already graded.

Im doing the exact same thing. Bought a very nice 75 Topps set and upgrading some of the weaker cards with 75 Topps PSA 7 and PSA 8 crackouts.

I think that would be a good way to get a nice looking raw '74 or '75 set. Those years are cheap enough even graded that it is OK to crack them out and not lose to much monetary value.
