how easy is using eBAY?

im 17 years old...and i registered my stuff for paypal and im waiting for the small amounts to be added so i can type them in and be confirmed. also, something funny is that, when you place a bid over the current bid you can see, it doesn't tell you that that isn't ACTUALLY always the highest bid. it will say, you have been outbid...haha...and is sniping REALLY what you should be doing if you want to win auctions? in this case, please tell me what sites are GOOD sniper sites. and on another note, i decided to use ebay because i think the coins at the coin shop are too expensive, they are not certified, and the guy is making a killing. YES, you get them in person, but at a premium! isn't that the real problem with coin shops? i am looking for affordable early MS commems. that is the set i want to complete. right now i have a norfolk half, a roanake half, a lexington concord half, and a Ulysses S Grant half. None are certified. i paid too much for them. thanks for the help.

Must be 18 to have a legit eBay account.

All you need to know is that you are outbid at that point in time.

Deals are to be had in a multiple of venues. A coin shop and eBay are just two resources. Any venue will have it's good deals and it's not-so-wonderful deals.

What you are collecting is not a highly counterfeited market. Familiarize yourself with the most common type of older counterfeiting- casting. Unless you are oh-so concerned about a grade point here and there, it doesn't make sense to go the certified a.k.a. "slabbed" route on a tight hobby budget.
Good luck and welcome to the boards. This type of post belongs over on the U.S. Coins forum as the BST is for actual goods that are up for buy, sell or trade.
From a fellow YN ................. Welcome to the boards and good luck with the collecting!

ok thank you. it is not a matter of their authenticity i care about, its just that...the value of it would be better if it were slabbed, you know. and thanks for the info you gave me.
