To those of you who were CERTAIN the 1858 gold dollar I bought was fake....

you were right.
and now, you may gloat. Or, to paraphrase the Bible "let those who have never bought a raw coin off ebay throw the first stone"
ANACS 1858 G$1 N9 (altered coin, questionable authenticity, no service)
Since the Dealer and I had agreed, I'm sending him back the coin and getting a full refund.
One great bit of news from ANACS though....I send in my 1922 Weak D along with the foney...and the 22 came back graded 50!, PCGS had bb'd it last year for questionable color, so at least that bad boy is slabbed now.

It's nice to see that you understand the lesson, though
I've been down the road of fakes a few times. It's painful.
Send your stuff to the ANA for teaching purposes and you will make restitution.

I think that is a good idea.
ANACS wants to call it an AU50 and not make judgements on the color...hey, Im lovin it.
