Puzzling greysheet prices for 1862 Lib $2.50

The February 2009 CDN Quarterly newsletter lists the 1862 Liberty $2.50 as $1,900 in AU50 and $4,500 in AU58. The Red Book values the 1862 as $500 in AU50 and $725 in AU55. The PCGS Price Guide (itself often a bit optimistic) lists the 1862's values as $550 in AU 50 and $1,000 in AU58. I picked up my 1862 in a PCGS AU50 holder for a fair bit less than $450.

In AU50 and AU58 the greysheet is higher by a factor of about 4.

I am wondering if the greysheet prices are just a misprint but I don't have earlier quarterly newsletter versions to check. Have you seen similar odd pricing in greysheet?

    its not the only one-
I cant say for sure but im watching now a coin that BIDS for $5,000 and heritage had the last 10 or so nice pieces in both pcgs and ngc selling for just about $3,000
mistake in bid sheet? I think so...

I always thought the greysheet was too high on some MS-65 and MS-66 type coins, but that is really unusual. It's too low on most better date material, so why so high on this one issue???
