The Boss - True George Steinbrenner Story

George S. taught me (as a six year old) how to keep official score at an Orlando Twins game. He signed my program with the note, "To Nathaniel, All the Best from the Yankees." I guess he was there scouting and things were a bit slow. So whenever I hear bad things about him in the press, I cut him a break, because for that evening he was very cool to a little kid.

I'm glad this was a nice experience for you . This was not the normal "George" experience for most . I've heard it said , "We reap what we sow ". George has absolutely earned his perceived reputation .

As stated above , I'm glad you have this to remember . I'm sure there are more that might even have something nice to say , if prompted . The vast majority have never been blessed with such an occurance .

He did well with the Yanks though.

What a coincidence! As an 8 year old, George taught me how to smoke pot under the bleachers at Al Lang Stadium. He was one cool dude!
