UK just got John Wall to commit! I cannot wait for college Hoops! (Awesome video clip inside)

This is as excited as I have been in a long time being a Kentucky Wildcat fan. John Wall just committed to UK. If you haven't heard about him, scouts have said he could have been a top 3 NBA pick THIS YEAR. With Wall in the fold, Patterson coming back, and Meeks likely coming back, this will be a dynamic team. Possible starting lineup would be -

PG - John Wall
SG - Jodie Meeks
C - DeMarcus Cousins
PF - Patrick Patterson
SF - Darius Miller

This is the top recruiting class in the country with Wall, Cousins, Daniel Orton, Eric Bledsoe, and Jon Hood.

Look for Jodie Meeks to be a 1st team All American.

For those that have no idea about John Wall, just take a look at the video below. You will see why UK fans should get very excited. Remember, this kid is a 6'4" POINT GUARD.

It's amazed by sports fans' willingness to crucify any baseball player who's even mentioned in passing as having been involved with PED's while simultaneously maintaining a passionate rooting interest in such an historically sleazy program as Kentucky basketball.

Oh, well. I'm still looking forward to some college B-Ball. I was born and raised here in western KY. Also have been and always will like the Wildcats.

Good for Kentucky. They have had some average teams lately. However, if this player is NBA caliber already, he will be a "one and done" player in college. So UK will have his services for one year tops.

Before college hoops beginds next fall, he may even have a change of heart and skip college all together to play for pay overseas for one year.

There is a So. Cal. player from San Diego who announced recently that he is skipping his senior year of high school to go play pro ball overseas. One day I expect a middle schooler who is 7'0" tall, 270 pounds and a point guard with NBA skills to announce he is skipping high school to play for pay.

I agree that he will be a "one and done", but it should be a fun year, if those highlights are any indication.

I thought I had heard he was leaning toward Duke. Good for you KY to get this guy. He is supposed to be awesome. I love college basketball too.

Scott Van Pelt on ESPN radio just a few minutes ago called John Wall "a lovechild from Pete Maravich and Vince Carter". If you have a skill set that is a mix of Maravich and Vince Carter, that just isn't fair.

I don't know about you guys but I see a big blue 2010 (okay maybe 2011) Final Four banner hanging in Rupp Arena in our future! An entire decade without a Final Four is enough (we came close in 2003 and 2005 though).

Hope UK enjoys Wall's one year in Lex.

I think it's stupid to force kids to go to college for a year when all they want to do is turn pro. Leave the college scholarships for kids who actually want to work toward a degree.
