are these print marks or stains on 1958 Topps baseball cards???

I have a number of 1958 Topps baseball cards that have stains or printmarks on the back. Here are a few scans. Are these printmarks?? or stains or wax?? could they possibly be from rubberbands?? can anyone help. thanks al.

Looks like wax. Try the panty hose or lighter fluid trick.

What is the lighter fluid trick?I don't think setting them on fire is a good idea.Yes it will get rid of the stains but it will also get rid of the card with it.

Not print marks is all I can say by looking at the scans, wax does not usually stain the middle of a card.

Rubber band marks seem plausable.

Actually, lighter fluid will remove wax without staining the card.

Printmarks aren't uncommon on these, and it could be a combination of the two.

I know that lighter fluid will remove wax from the front of a card, not so sure about the backs.

I doubt very much that they are 'print' mrks.

I just thought of something else, could it possibly be glue? I just noticed that the Kemmerer card appears to have spots at each corner, could it possibly have been glued into a book and then removed? Do any of you have any knowledge of what glue would look like on the back of a card? I do appreciate all of your help. al.
